Definition
Evolution by natural selection of similar forms by different species, such as the sharing of warning signals that discourage common predators. In Batesian mimicry, a species tasteful to a predator deceptively copies warning signals of a distasteful species. In Mullerian mimicry, two or more distasteful species evolve common warning signals to avoid a common predator.
