Definition
A privacy protection protocol for IEEE 802.11 wireless services that is designed to prevent unauthorized users from eavesdropping on wireless data transfers. The protocol has been sharply criticized for employing an inadequate key length and an authentication mechanism that is vulnerable to forgery.
