Definition
One complete collection of letters, punctuation marks, numbers, and special characters with a consistent and identifiable typeface, weight (roman or bold), posture (upright or italic), and type size. The term often is used incorrectly in reference to a typeface or font family.There are two basic font technologies for computers: bitmapped fonts and outlined fonts (also called vectored or scalable fonts) such as Adobe PostScript and Microsoft TrueType.
