Definition
Let {a_n} be a sequence of real numbers. We say the sequence is increasing if a_n <= a_(n+1) for all n. If a_n >= a_(n+1) for all n, we say the sequence is decreasing. A sequence is called monotonic if it is increasing or if it is decreasing.
