Acid Rain

  • Definition: Cloud droplets or raindrops combining with gaseous pollutants, such as oxides of sulfur and nitrogen, to make falling rain (or snow) acidic - pH less than 5.0. If fog droplets combine with such pollutants it becomes acid fog.
