Acid Deposition

  • Definition: The depositing of acidic particles (usually sulfuric acid and nitric acid) at the earth's surface. Acid deposition occurs in dry form (dry deposition) or wet form (wet deposition). Acid rain and acid precipitation often denote wet deposition.
