Evolutionary Stable Strategy

  • Definition: Application of the mathematical theory of games to evaluate whether a system of social behaviors is robust to the evolution of "cheating" behaviors that would threaten its stability; denotes a social system that should persist over long periods of evolutionary time because it prevails in competition with others that might arise.
