Double Helix

  • Definition: The fundamental structure of a DNA molecule consisting of two paired strands held together by complementary pairing of bases and forming the three-dimensional structure of an alpha helix. The paired strands are antiparanel because the 3' end of one strand is opposite the 5' end of the other one.
