Acetyl Coenzyme A

  • Definition: In cellular respiration, a molecule, formed in the mitochondrion, through which breakdown products of glycolysis enter the citric acid cycle for further oxidation; also a chemical precursor to synthesis of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
