Definition
Also referred to as the Citric Acid Cycle or the Tricarboxylic Acid Cycle, the Kreb's Cycle is a metabolic process that occurs in the matrix of the mitochondria of aerobic organisms as a key component of cellular respiration. In some bacteria that lack mitochondria, the Kreb's Cycle occurs in the cytosol.
