Definition
In speech synthesis, a find of concatenative synthesis for use in one particular area of application only. Utterances are created from prerecorded words and phrases that closely match the words and phrases that will be synthesized. New utterances ca also be created using smaller segments, sch as diphones, collected from the same recordings.
