Definition
This class of segmented worms includes the earthworms and a variety of aquatic species (they can be terrestrial, marine, or freshwater segmented worms). Oligochaetes are named for their relatively sparse chateau, or bristles made of chitin. In Greek, oligos means few and chaite means long hair.
