Root Test

  • Definition: Given a series sum(a_n) of complex terms, let p = lim sup (|a_n|)^(1/n). The series sum(a_n) converges absolutely if p < 1. b) The series sum(a_n) diverges if p > 1. c) The test is inconclusive if p = 1.
