Quadratic Formula

Definition: Consider the equation az^2 + bz + c = 0, where a, b, c are constants. The solutions for this equation are given by the formula: z = (b + (b^2 4ac)^(1/2)) / 2a
Source: "Precalculus" by David H. Collingwood, K. David Prince, and Matthew M. Conroy at University of Washington

Example: a=4, b=5, c=1 1 = (5 (5^2 4(4)(1))^(1/2)) / 2(4) 1/4 = (5 + (5^2 4(4)(1))^(1/2)) / 2(4)
