Definition: A program or set of programs that serve to disguise an internal network’s addresses so that they cannot be directly accessed from the external Internet.To provide external Internet service to internal users, a proxy server is used to make external information requests on behalf of internal users, but without disclosing the IP addresses of the internal user’s computers.
